Plastic bags kill over 100,000 birds, whales, seals, and turtles every year. Plastic bags are not biodegradable and can take up to 500 years to break down into toxic bits that pollute our soil, rivers and oceans. Reusable items and recycling helps to save the environment.

The planting of trees means improved water quality, resulting in less runoff and erosion. This allows more recharging of the ground water supply. Wooded areas help prevent the transport of sediment and chemicals into streams.

The production of plastic bags requires petroleum and often natural gas (both non-renewable resources) that increase our need for drilling. This contributes to the destruction of fragile habitats and ecosystems around the world. Do your part - recycle all plastic materials!
